Devices and platforms
Bite Intel runs on the website and on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or newer. The Android app is in development. The website and the iPhone app share one account and the same data.
More detail
The website. It works in any current desktop or mobile browser, including the browser on an Android phone. The browser has to be Chrome 87, Edge 88, Firefox 78 or Safari 14, or newer.
The iPhone app. On an iPhone it stays in portrait. On an iPad it rotates.
What differs on the map. The iPhone app keeps the map flat and north-up; the website lets you rotate and tilt it. Waypoint dots are orange on the iPhone and color-coded by type on the website. Tap a dot to see what it is. The nautical scale bar is on the website only, and the measure tool is on both.
Trips and catches. The iPhone app records your trips. It records automatically when Auto-record trips is on in Preferences, or you can start a trip by hand with Start trip in the Logbook. The website shows and replays them. You can log a catch on either.
Location and notifications. The app asks for your location to put your boat on the map and to record trips. You can say no. The only notifications are about your own trip recording.
What is remembered. The overlay buttons along the bottom of the map reset each time you open the app. The app remembers every other setting.
