Free and Pro
There are two plans, Free and Bite Intel Pro, and with a free account you can open every region and see the newest frame of each free layer. Bite Intel Pro adds past dates on the time bar, the computed layers and the species maps. Every plan records and replays trips and logs catches.
The rule behind it
Free is 34 of the 55 map layers.
Pro is the time bar and the computed layers: every time step as far back as we have it, and all 55 layers. The exceptions: the forecast Currents layer and the two satellite front layers, SST (ACSPO) Fronts and SST (GOES-19) Fronts, are free; the five-minute layers over the Gulf of America, the East Coast and Baja, SST (2hr Composite) and SST (5min raw), are Pro.
A grayed layer with a padlock is a Pro layer on a Free account.
More detail
What Free looks like on the water. With Free you get one frame of each free layer, not a whole day. Each layer updates on its own schedule, so a forecast layer and a satellite layer often show two different moments.
What Pro adds on the water. The time bar opens. Step back to see how a break or an eddy has moved over the past days, and step ahead through the forecast to see where it is heading. The computed layers show temperature breaks, color walls, eddies, FSLE structure lines, thermocline and convergence.
Regions and the plan. Pro comes with your home region, and you can add more regions. In a region that is not on your subscription the website shows the region's name followed by "is not on your plan", with a button to add it, and the iPhone app shows the name followed by "is not in your plan".
Trips and the plan. With Pro, when you replay a trip, the time bar also shows the ocean data for the trip's days.
Buying and canceling. Prices, how to buy, how to add a region and how to cancel are in Billing and payments.
