Account and sign-in
Sign in with your email address and password, on the website or the iPhone app. You can reset a forgotten password from the link on the sign-in screen, and you can delete your account on the Account screen.

Creating an account. Use an email address and a password of at least eight characters, on the website at ripiq.com or in the iPhone app ("New to Bite Intel? Create a free account" on the sign-in screen). A password found in a known data breach is refused. The one account works on the website and in the iPhone app.
The verification email. When you sign up, we send you the email "Verify Your RipIQ Email", with a link that is good for 24 hours. You can use the account straight away. The chat needs a verified email.
Passkeys. On a device that supports it you can add a passkey in Account and then sign in with your face, fingerprint or device passcode; your password keeps working too.
A forgotten password. The reset email comes from noreply@ripiq.com with the subject "Reset Your RipIQ Password". Its link is good for an hour. To change a password you still know, use Change password in Account.
Home region. You set your home region in Account, and it decides where the map opens.
Deleting the account. If you pay for a plan, cancel it first: a website plan under Manage account on ripiq.com, and an App Store plan in your Apple subscriptions. Deleting your account does not stop Apple's billing. Then choose Delete account, under Security in Account, and confirm. You cannot undo this. We erase your name, email and other personal information right away. We keep your trips and catches for research with nothing linking them to you, and we keep billing records as the law requires.
