Things that look like faults and are not
A few things in Bite Intel look wrong and are not: some layers are listed grayed with a lock, some satellite layers go blank under cloud, and the time slider is anchored on the forecast's own day, not today. For anything else that looks wrong, email support@ripiq.com.
More detail
A layer is grayed, with a lock. Those are the layers that are not on your plan, on the website and on the iPhone. Tap one to see what it is.
A layer is blank in places. Some satellite layers leave cloud blank: GOES-19, ACSPO, Sentinel-3 and PACE. SMAP is blank where the satellite did not pass that day. MUR, GlobColour and SSS (Blended) come from their providers with the holes filled by estimate. A dimmed stop on the time slider, or a hollow dot on the iPhone app, means that layer has nothing for that moment. Drag to a bright one.
The layers stop as you pan. The layers follow the region selected in the app, not where you pan, and they stop at the edge of the region. Switch the region.
The date looks wrong. The slider starts on the day the forecast was run, which was between one and four days ago, so today sits a few stops to the right.
Two temperature layers disagree, or the map does not match your gauge. The layers come from different sources on different schedules, so they can show different moments. A satellite reads the very top of the water, so on a calm sunny afternoon it can differ from your transducer.
A species map is mostly bare. Only 50 and above is painted.
A "Data may be outdated" pill appears. It can show after more than a day without a connection, and it clears when you are back in signal.
The overlay buttons are off again. The overlay buttons along the bottom of the map reset each time you open the app. The app saves every other setting.
