Trip boat marker

When you replay a finished trip from the Logbook, a boat icon sits on your track where you were at the moment the time slider points to. Drag the slider and the boat moves along the line. It never shows while recording or on the main map.

Live — moves with the trip replay

More detail

How to use it. Tap the Logbook button on the bottom bar, open Trips and choose a finished trip. Stop the time slider on a catch mark to see when you were there. The boat moves in the slider's steps and does not glide between them, on the website and the iPhone app.

Which way it points. The icon points along your track, not which way the bow was facing.

Between recorded positions. Where the phone was recording less often, the replay cuts corners the boat did not really cut.

When it seems frozen. If you set the slider to a time before the trip started or after it ended, the boat waits at the start or the end of the track.

Two boats on screen. On the iPhone app this icon is separate from the My location boat icon that shows where you are now.

How it relates to the other trip marks. The Trip track line is the path the boat moves along, and Trip catch pins mark the fish you logged on it. All three appear together when a trip is open.

It works for any trip, anywhere you went, including where the ocean layers have no data. The replay is RipIQ's own, made from the positions your phone saved.
